Course Description

Course Description
WARNING – The Music City Trail Ultra is a hard course especially for the 50k. We are not saying this to impress you, read some of the reviews from last years runners. If you’re willing to take this challenge and still be humble, we welcome you. Also we request that all 50k runners be capable of finishing in 9 hours.
The course will start at our family farm in Pegram, TN that connects to the Cheatham Wildlife Games Reserve. This park offers 20,000 acres of beautiful steep trails and stunning ridge-line views. The course has a good mixture of rugged jeep trails and single track trails through technical terrain.* 50k – Half the run on trail and the other on jeep or gravel roads. This percentage might change as we will be adding new trail to the course this year
* 25k – 65% trail and and the rest on jeep and gravel roads
* 12k – 75% trail and the rest on jeep and gravel roads

Aid StationsThere will be an aid station roughly every 5~6 miles on this course. Aid stations will include Gatorade, water, and snacks.

Cut-off Times Per Aid StationsThis is a hard cut-off time, and all runners arriving after the given times will be asked to drop. Please be respectful of race officials if you are asked to drop – no discussion. You will be provided with transportation back to the start/finish.
10 mile Aid Station cut-off time is 3 hours 20 minutes
20 mile Aid Station cut-off time is 6.5 hours
All runners must complete the race in 9 hours

HardRUCK

RUCKING DIVISION

HardRUCK
We are thrilled to once again host a ruck division for each race. For the uninitiated, rucking is typically described as walking/hiking with a weighted pack. The activity gets its name from “rucksacks,” which is military-speak for “backpack.”

Per typical ruck standards, the weight requirement is determined by body weight:
Over 150lb – 20lb dry
Under 150lb – 10lb dry

We are excited to have a much-improved patch process this year! GORUCK HQ is now providing patches in advance of each event. You will receive your patch upon weigh-in. To make this administratively simple…no weigh-in = no patch.

Please plan to weigh in 30 minutes prior to the event start.

Weight must be in the form of a steel ruck plate, weight vest blocks, bumper plates or other items which have the weight clearly stamped. Removal of plates or reduction of weight during the event is not authorized. Honor system applies. Do the right thing.

Questions
  • May I bring a dog – Well behaved dogs that don’t chase horses are allowed on the property. However if your dog chases a horse you will be asked to leave. Also if somethign happens to the horse you will be held responsible. Which can be very costly. Also my dog will be off leash. She will at some point come up to your dog to check her out. She is very friendly to all animals (except chipmunks) but very big and powerful. If you are not okay with this then leave your dog at home
  • May I bring a camper – Yes you may
  • May I camp out ahead of time – Yes you may just let me know when you’re coming up

  • Do you have portajohns – yes we do

  • Do you have running water – Yes we do

  • Do you have electricity – No we do not
